Hey y'all, Tane Carpenter here for Southeastern Oklahoma State, and currently we are in Hot Springs for the Gap Tournament, and today I'm going to be talking about a mentor throughout high school that made me the person I am today, and that man is Travis Reynolds, and he is the high school baseball coach at Magnolia West. And that man pretty much just saved my whole baseball career because senior year I was ready to hang it up. I was not having fun anymore with the previous head coach, made me just hate baseball and just hate having fun out on the field because I was just getting punished every day and just, it felt like a job not having fun like a kid's game. So that man came in, Travis Earls came in my senior year, and right off the bat I knew he was a good man. Like he, first day we had an inner squad with the machine and just having a fun time and just everyone laughing, having a good time, joking around, talking a little smack to each other, and he's joining in, so you know when a coach does that he's going to be really good. And throughout the year he just pushed me to make sure I continue my baseball career into college, and throughout the year he really just sat me down every week to make sure I was okay, good, mental state was good, and just like to see where I'm going with my life, see if I'm still playing college ball, and mental approach, do I have the batter's box, do I have the field, and just if I don't play, like this is the reason why, really helped me understand the game of baseball on like a different level and fall in love with the game of baseball on a different level. And it really, it really made me the person I am today because ever since that, like my senior year, it's been nothing but baseball for me, staying out of trouble, making sure I'm doing right with God and everyone around me in baseball is where I met my closest friends, my family, and it's where I've been having a good time in college. And I want to just say that he really just taught me to, really just anything in life, don't overlook what you have, and just do what you love. Um, but I can go on and on about how much he really just saved my baseball career, and I really appreciate that man, but Hayden Carpenter signing off. Y'all have a good night.
