The question
Tell us about a teacher or mentor from high school who challenged you the most or inspired you in a way that still shapes who you are today. Who are they, and what lesson from them do you carry into your life now?

Hey, my name is Antonio Davis, and a mentor that I want to talk about is my high school coach, Coach Kelly. Coach Kelly was my first track and field hurdler coach, and I started hurdling my junior high school. He brought me in to the field of hurdling, and he was so patient with me through all my tough times, all my trip ups, when I was at my worst, when I lost the race, when I won a race. He was there, so throughout that junior year all the way to my senior year, I was able to accomplish being a hurdler MVP, 4×4 region champion, 110 meter champion, and a 400 meter champion, and this was all within a two-year span without me having no knowledge of track, and I wasn't an athlete to any other sport, so I give great thanks to Coach Kelly, and he got me my first offer, which was in Florida. It was a school called West Palm Beach in Kaiser, Florida, and now I'm here at Minnesota State University. Thank you, Coach Kelly.
