Joshua Brooks (Football, Ohio State University) grew up in Chicago. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Joshua Brooks’s, in full.
The question

If someone had never been to your hometown, how would you describe its character and reputation? What makes it unique, memorable, or influential? To someone who has never visited Chicago, they should know that Chicago is best described as a city with the well-seen-as ambition of global metropolis, but unpotentiously so of a midwestern small town. They would want to see the skyline, the lakefront, and when blizzards hit, neighbors spend hours swimming through heavy coats to shovel out a simple parking space on a public street to claim the hard work they have done. And it is memorable because if you ever visit Chicago, then in the wintertime, it would make it memorable because you would have to shovel snow just to move your car to go anywhere at any time, any place. And you would most likely have to do this three, four times a day, like there's no just doing it one time and just getting away from it because you got to do it multiple times. And in the summertime, it'd be hot, so you're gonna have to cool up under your AC for a little minute and stuff like this, so yeah.
