Aidan Wang (Swimming & Diving, Princeton University) grew up in Gaithersburg. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Aidan Wang’s, in full.
The question
Tell a story about a moment when your hometown came together or achieved something that made you proud.
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Aidan Wang’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
I'm very proud of my hometown's commitment and support into developing youth sports. And in diving particularly, there are so many summer pools across the county and in North Potomac that rely on parent volunteers and just people coming together to make it a tight-knit community of youth athletes, providing so many social events and ways to connect the kids together. It really inspires the future generation to motivate each other to continue to do sports and lead a healthy lifestyle. So that kind of community has been making me very proud.
