Aisha Merchant for HelloNation.

The question

Tell us about a teacher or mentor from high school who challenged you the most or inspired you in a way that still shapes who you are today. Who are they, and what lesson from them do you carry into your life now?

The answer, as recorded

Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Aisha Merchant’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.

Hi, this is Aisha Merchant reporting from Owensboro, Kentucky for Hello Nation. A teacher or mentor from high school that really challenged me and inspired me was my theology teacher my freshman year of high school. Her name was Miss Dorff, and she really taught me to be grateful for everything that I have and all the opportunities that I am able to do. She taught me that everything is possible through Christ and to be thankful to God every day for what He gives me and the talents that I have because of Him and the opportunities that I have because of Him. So that outlook on life has made me more thankful and appreciative for everything that I have and everything that I get to do.
