Carson Livesay (Baseball, East Texas Baptist University) grew up in Lafayette. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Carson Livesay’s, in full.
The question
Tell a story about a moment when your hometown came together or achieved something that made you proud.
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Carson Livesay’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
So my sophomore year was the year that COVID happened and during our baseball season we were undefeated and number one in the state in high school and I felt like we had a really good shot to win a state championship which would have been the first one at my high school. And then our season got shut down and you really felt that sense of community and the togetherness when it got shut down because everyone was behind us, everyone was supporting us. It felt like something that got taken away from us but our community was really there to help us through that that moment in time and that unfortunate change of events.
