Demarion Ware (Football, Missouri Baptist University) grew up in Saint Louis. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Demarion Ware’s, in full.
The question
Tell us about a person or business doing something worth knowing about in your hometown — the town you grew up in, not your college town. Who are they, what are they doing, and why should people outside your hometown hear about it?
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Demarion Ware’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
DeMarion, we're reporting in live from St. Louis, Missouri for Hello Nation. Community strength, I would say community strength for St. Louis is when natural disasters happen and I've seen a lot of people who are mean come out of their bodies and help people get in the community, bringing cans of food, helping the floods, building flood walls. So I mean, as far as community strength, St. Louis is kind of rough, but the community always stick together, the community sticks together no matter what. Every time a bad disaster happens, like a tornado that destroyed most of the north side of St. Louis, you see everybody from the county, the city, the south side, the west side coming in to help. It's just, it's unity and at the same time, when bad stuff does happen in St. Louis, there's so much resilience and all you will see is the people fighting to build their houses back up, fighting to just survive.
