Community Voices: Ean on why Simi Valley is a good place to raise a family

What makes your community a great place to raise a family? I would say the biggest thing that makes my community a great place to raise a family in Simi Valley is kind of the inclusivity of everything here.

Ean Somoza (Ice Hockey, Minnesota State University, Mankato) grew up in Simi Valley. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Ean Somoza’s, in full.

What makes your community a great place to raise a family? I would say the biggest thing that makes my community a great place to raise a family in Simi Valley is kind of the inclusivity of everything here. Seems like it's very easy, very accessible. Everything's also kind of an arm's length away. You got Los Angeles about 30-45 minutes away. Same with Malibu. I think Simi Valley's a very quiet area. It's the suburbs. It's nice. It's funny because I could really see myself having kids and raising a family here in Simi Valley. My family's close as well too, so that would help. Sports, everything's very good. The food's unbelievable. In and out here, probably my go-to spot. But no, I could really see myself raising a family. It's very inclusive, very safe. It's a good area. I'd like to bring up my kid the same way I was brought up.
