Joshua Brooks (Football, Ohio State University) grew up in Chicago. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Joshua Brooks’s, in full.
The question
Name three small business owners in your community who have had a meaningful impact on others or inspired you personally. Who are they, and why do they stand out as a pillar of your community?
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Joshua Brooks’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
Name three small business owners in your community who have had a meaningful impact on others or inspired you personally. Who are they, and why do they stand out as a pillar of your community? These three incredible women represent the absolute best of Chicago's neighborhoods, streets, and communities. From Miley, Camille, Brunson, using just the supplies to provide life-changing culinary training to you, to Stephanie Hart anchoring the Southside for two decades by building jobs and expanding mandatory fracturing through Brown Sugar Bakery at Dominique Leach, breaking barriers, and investing in the historic Pullman community with Lexington Betty Smokehouse. These three women have done a lot for our community, and they will keep doing great for our community, and I hope that it never ends.
