Community Voices: Carson on why Lafayette is a good place to raise a family

What makes my community a great place to raise a family is that it's very close-knit. Everybody knows everybody, so you get that sense of family from everyone in the community.

Carson Livesay (Baseball, East Texas Baptist University) grew up in Lafayette. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Carson Livesay’s, in full.

The question

What makes your community a great place to raise a family?

The answer, as recorded

Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Carson Livesay’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.

What makes my community a great place to raise a family is that it's very close-knit. Everybody knows everybody, so you get that sense of family from everyone in the community. It's not just, oh here's my little family, it's everyone takes care of everyone. It's an awesome community, awesome and supporting, very supporting of everything you do. I'd love to do get-togethers, cook a lot of food, and South Louisiana food's a main staple, so we do that quite often. And that's about it.
