Community Voices: Aidan on how to describe Gaithersburg to an outsider

For somebody who has never been to North Potomac, I would describe it as a very quiet and peaceful suburban neighborhood. There are so many parks and greenery nearby.

Aidan Wang (Swimming & Diving, Princeton University) grew up in Gaithersburg. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Aidan Wang’s, in full.

The question

If someone had never been to your hometown, how would you describe its character and reputation? What makes it unique, memorable, or influential?

The answer, as recorded

For somebody who has never been to North Potomac, I would describe it as a very quiet and peaceful suburban neighborhood. There are so many parks and greenery nearby. Also, a lot of cool places like Big Pines Park and the Nancy Community Center, which I find myself at often. Also, there are lots of good places to shop and eat, like Travella Square and Falls Grove. And yeah, there are very safe neighborhoods, very good school districts, and a very good location to access more urban areas.
