Community Voices: Aidan on why Mc Lean is a good place to raise a family

For this question, you know, what makes a community a great place to raise a family? You know, I think it really boils down to the people that you surround yourself with.

Aidan Olazabal (Lacrosse, Yale University) grew up in Mc Lean. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Aidan Olazabal’s, in full.

For this question, you know, what makes a community a great place to raise a family? You know, I think it really boils down to the people that you surround yourself with. You know, I'm from McLean, Virginia, 10 minutes right outside of DC in northern Virginia. And, you know, it's just for me specifically, why McLean is just such a great community is because, you know, you're surrounded by so many, you know, like minded and really genuine people. You know, I've been living in McLean ever since, you know, fourth grade. So, you know, it's been a while. It's been almost, you know, 10, 11 years now. And, you know, it just feels just so amazing to be, you know, around these people. You know, I'm still super close with my friends back in middle school when I moved here to McLean when I was in third or fourth grade. And so, you know, I still really spend a lot of time with those people. And like our relationships are just unbelievably strong. And I mean, that's what it's really all about, you know, in McLean. It's, you know, spending time with those people and, you know, in such an amazing neighborhood too, you know, whether it's going out to eat at the local diner or, you know, going down to the local public school to play, you know, lacrosse on the field. It's just such an amazing place and amazing community. So.
