Sir Mells (Football, Georgia State University) grew up in Las Vegas. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Sir Mells’s, in full.
The question
Tell us about a teacher or mentor from high school who challenged you the most or inspired you in a way that still shapes who you are today. Who are they, and what lesson from them do you carry into your life now?
The answer, as recorded

What's going on guys, it's Sir Mel's Defense Alignment at Georgia State University. One person that inspired me from high school to now, I'll probably have to say my principal, Mr. Derrick Bello. He believed in me when I was in the eighth grade and he told me to come out to Liberty High School and ever since then he's just been putting his trust in everything I do and he's been supporting me and one thing I'll never forget he told me to do is do everything to your full capability and maximum potential. It stuck with me all the way through now and through college and everything I've been going through. That's one person that I can depend on and trust and talk to when I was going through stuff and whatever it was, he would just sit there and listen and give me the right advice to get through the situation. So one person I'll definitely say that inspired me from high school, probably be my principal, Mr. Derrick Bello. Thank you.
