Community Voices: Ean on a Simi Valley business worth knowing about

Name three small business owners in your community who have had a meaningful impact on others or inspired you personally. Who are they, and why do they stand out as a pillar of your community?

Ean Somoza (Ice Hockey, Minnesota State University, Mankato) grew up in Simi Valley. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Ean Somoza’s, in full.

The answer, as recorded

Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Ean Somoza’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.

Name three small business owners in your community who have had a meaningful impact on others or inspired you personally. Who are they, and why do they stand out as a pillar of your community? The first person I would say is Luke Beausoleil. He works at Isoplex. He's a business owner and he owns Beausoleil Hockey School. He's an unbelievable person, a very honest, authentic, genuine human, and he's created his own brand from nothing. He represents hard work in our community. The second person I would say is Winston Hong. He's actually my stepfather. He owns TLC. He plays a huge impact in my life personally. He's a great role model to me, and he's also built his brand from the ground up, and he just shows me how far hard work can really take you. The last person is my brother, Ethan Samoza. He's a business owner of Samoza Hockey School, and I think one thing he's just really showed me is determination. You don't have to be born with it, but if you put your head down and you really believe, if you tell yourself and really believe in yourself, anything's possible.
