A business doing something worth knowing about in my hometown of Houston, Texas is the Houston Food Bank.

Eric (Basketball, Ut Tyler) grew up in Houston. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Eric’s, in full.

The question

Tell us about a person or business doing something worth knowing about in your hometown — the town you grew up in, not your college town. Who are they, what are they doing, and why should people outside your hometown hear about it?

Hello everyone. A business doing something worth knowing about in my hometown of Houston, Texas is the Houston Food Bank. I grew up in Houston so I know how big and diverse the city is, but there are still many families who struggle to have enough food. The Houston Food Bank works with different organizations around the area to provide meals and groceries to families who need them. I think people outside of Houston should hear about the Houston Food Bank because it's worth, it works so, because it works so how a community can come and come together and just help others that need that. They're not just giving out food, they're helping families during difficult times, during storms, hurricanes, things like that. They're making a positive difference to our Houston area. It is something that made me proud in the city of Houston whenever I grew up. Thank you guys.
