Marcus Von (Soccer, Grand Canyon University) grew up in Broomfield. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Marcus Von’s, in full.
The question
Tell us about the downtown or Main Street in your hometown — the town you grew up in, not your college town. What's there, what's changed? Name the places you'd point a visitor to, and tell us what's different from when you were growing up.
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Marcus Von’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
Hello, my name is Marcus Bond and today I want to tell you about downtown Broomfield and more specifically Main Street. So as you make it down the street, it's awesome because you have, it's almost like a hill all the way down and at the all the way end is the high school. So at the top of the hill you have like the bank and you have the library and you have some cool restaurants and the grocery store as you're going down the hill. And then as you start making it down the hill, at the bottom you have some more stores. On the left side, you have a neighborhood with a really awesome neighborhood. And then on the right side, you have like the park where you have kids, you have the fields, you have the trees. It's all such a small town feel, which is amazing. And then as you keep going down, you make it to the high school, which is at the end of the street, where you have the football stadium right there. Behind that is the school. On the right side, you have another neighborhood. Well, actually there's a golf course and then a neighborhood. So it's awesome because you have the high school golf course and you have this whole hill all leading down to it. And that's a little bit about Main Street in downtown Broomfield.
