Community Voices: Talan on why WA is a good place to raise a family

My community that I'm from, back home in Washington, definitely being a small community, there's definitely a lot of people that come together to help someone, you know, someone like myself when I was younger…

Talan Yearour (Basketball, Park University Gilbert) grew up in WA. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Talan Yearour’s, in full.

The question

What makes your community a great place to raise a family?

My community that I'm from, back home in Washington, definitely being a small community, there's definitely a lot of people that come together to help someone, you know, someone like myself when I was younger, doing any type of traveling, AAU basketball. You know, I needed to get an extra little bit of money to help pay for, you know, a few costs that were in the way. And, you know, I had some people in my community help out and put on a little event for me that was able to pull in more than enough money that helped pay for extra costs, and then able to pay for, you know, foods or anything else that I needed when I was going out and about. And I think that's a great reason why, you know, a family could go out there because the help in the community is so close with each other that really it's just a great environment.
