Tyler Becker (Football, California State University, Fresno) grew up in San Diego. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Tyler Becker’s, in full.
The question
If someone had never been to your hometown, how would you describe its character and reputation? What makes it unique, memorable, or influential?
The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Tyler Becker’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
I think that if anyone has been to my community, I think that they will think pretty highly of it because of not just only the people, but the characteristics that they hold. I think that throughout the kids to the adults, I think everybody is just has a good personality to them and is very friendly and welcoming. I think that if you visit there, you're definitely not going to feel unsafe or out of place because one time I can think of one kid back at my school, he saw some kid just sitting by himself and not really having friends throughout the day, so he kind of invited him to a football practice after school one day and the kid really definitely fell in love with the game and was actually able to go far. He went Division I playing football because of the older kid who came up to him and invited him to feel safe and join the team and be a part of a community.
