A moment when my hometown came together and achieved something that made me proud was when our high school team won our first ever team state championship for track. This was really exciting for everyone because it was just a product of how hard every event group worked and it was just something that we've all been working towards together as a team. We spent so much of that season and that season prior just really focusing on team environment and staying motivated and just setting goals. We had like some systems set with like pins that we would get for like achieving certain goals. We kept things fun each week with themes and checking in with one another through team bonding activities after practice, leading warm-ups, and just kind of becoming stronger as a team together and really putting in the work every day at practice and showing up on the weekends, showing up when it counted, and supporting each other even at meets that we weren't even competing in. It was just really rewarding to see it all come together and see my teammates perform really well at that meet and just everybody making a contribution to the success that we had that season and just ending it on a really good note.
