The answer, as recorded
Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Domonique Davis II’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
One teacher that had a really great impact on my life was my English language arts teacher, Miss King. During high school, she was much more than a teacher to me. She was a mentor, someone I could always count on. She even helped me keep my head on straight, kept me out of trouble, and made sure I stayed focused on my goals. She never allowed me to settle for less than my best, always held me accountable when I needed it. Miss King was like a second mother to me. Whenever I was dealing with any problems or anything going on in my life, she was always there. Football, relationships, or life in general, she was always there. She was always telling me great things about myself and always keeping my head on straight. She was always there with guidance and encouragement. Her classroom was a place I felt supported and motivated to succeed in school, even outside of school. The biggest lesson I carry from her is perseverance. She taught me to never quit when things get difficult, to keep me pushing forward no matter what the challenge or obstacle is. That lesson has stayed with me through my life, my career in football, high school and college, my education, and my professional life. The confidence, discipline, and determination she helped build in me continue to help shape the person I am today.
