I play ice hockey at Providence College, and I live in Norwell, Massachusetts. A teacher in high school that inspired me is Miss Dolan.

Cali Cerruti (Ice Hockey, Providence College) grew up in Norwell. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Cali Cerruti’s, in full.

The question

Tell us about a teacher or mentor from high school who challenged you the most or inspired you in a way that still shapes who you are today. Who are they, and what lesson from them do you carry into your life now?

The answer, as recorded

Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Cali Cerruti’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.

Hi, my name is Callie Cerruti. I play ice hockey at Providence College, and I live in Norwell, Massachusetts. A teacher in high school that inspired me is Miss Dolan. She was pretty young, so she was very relatable and close to our age, and she just gave us a lot of life lessons, and it was super cool to see and be able to talk with someone so freely, and you kind of got to build a relationship where they weren't just your teacher, but they were also your friend. One piece of advice that she would always talk about is just being yourself, and it's okay to not always know where you're going, but to just keep believing in yourself and keep pushing onward.
