One of the moments that made me most proud of my hometown was the incredible success of Atlanta and the State of Georgia experience in sports. In 2021, the Atlanta Braves won the World Series, bringing excitement and pride to the entire city. Everywhere you went, people were celebrating and showing support for the Braves. It felt like the whole community came together behind one team. Around the same time, my high school, City Road High School, established itself as one of the top programs in the country by winning five state championships in eight years. As someone connected to the program, seeing our school achieve that level of success filled me with pride. It showed that what we can do as a community, coaches, players, families, when we all work together to accept and claim one goal. Then the Georgia Bulldogs won back-to-back national championships in 21 and 22, giving the entire state even more reason to celebrate. It seemed like everywhere you went, Georgia was achieving greatness. What made these moments so special was not just the championships themselves, but the way that you gathered the people, families, friends, classmates, neighbors, and coaches all together in one city. We all came together to celebrate as one collective unit. The experience reminded me how strong a sense of pride the community is in Atlanta and throughout Georgia, and they are all doing a lot of charity. They are all memories I will carry throughout my life with me.
