Community Voices: Ezequel on why Vero Beach is a good place to raise a family

What makes my community a great place to raise a family is the fact we treat each other like family.

Ezequel Ceant (Lacrosse, Pfeiffer University) grew up in Vero Beach. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Ezequel Ceant’s, in full.

What makes my community a great place to raise a family is the fact we treat each other like family. Through this family, I've gained brothers and sisters, not necessarily by birth, but through this community, and I'm extremely grateful. Growing up, I had a lot of family issues, dealing with finance, split up parents, and the community really took it upon themselves to help me get into the sport to keep my mind on the right track. Coaches like Coach O'Brien, Coach Bailey, were really there for me when I really needed a father figure. People like Ms. Carden, Ms. Farrow, were really there for me when I needed a mother figure, and they actually helped me get into the sport I love today, which is lacrosse. Without this community, I would not be where I am today.
