Michelle Weiss (Swimming & Diving, University of the Cumberlands) grew up in SD. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Michelle Weiss’s, in full.
The question
Tell us about a business that matters to your hometown — the town you grew up in, not your college town. Not just that it's there, but what it does for the people around it and why it's worth knowing about.

Transcript. What follows is a transcript of the video above, in Michelle Weiss’s own words. It has not been rewritten, and no part of it was drafted for them.
For me, the Pure Donut Shop is a business that really matters in my hometown because it feels like part of the community. They are known for bringing donuts to businesses all around town when they have extra and supporting local sports teams as well. They are always willing to help out and give back to the people of Pure. For me, the Pure Donut Shop is also a personal favorite. It is my go-to breakfast spot when I'm meeting with friends or celebrating a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. Some of my favorite memories are simply getting donuts and coffee with friends and catching up, or having those donuts be brought to school in elementary school, middle school, and even high school. What makes the Pure Donut Shop worth knowing about is that they do more than just sell donuts. They have built relationships with people and organizations all around the community of Pure. They constantly find ways to support their community. That is the kind of local business that makes a small town feel like home.
