Tatum Cross (Cross Country, Southeastern Oklahoma State University) grew up in Celina. HelloNation asks student athletes one question about the place that raised them and records the answer on camera. This is Tatum Cross’s, in full.
The question
Name three small business owners in your community who have had a meaningful impact on others or inspired you personally. Who are they, and why do they stand out as a pillar of your community?

Hi, I think that the small business owners in Celina are really great. I think that they bring a certain like beauty to what they do every single day that inspires me because every time I step through the front door of each business in Celina, it's like I'm getting a personal greeting from each owner or anything like that. The workers, they're always there just so supportive of their customers, always willing to have a conversation, which sometimes when you wake up early to run like me it's nice to have somebody to just give you that extra boost at the beginning of the day. I think the first one I have to say is probably Tinder Smokehouse in Celina. Tinder Smokehouse has great employees, is always helpful. Like when we did a run together, I think either as a team or something like that in Celina, it was so cool having them being able to be so supportive early in the morning when we were just hungry athletes ready to go after our workout, just post-run eat. It was really cool to see how supportive they were, and I've been in there multiple times afterwards or before, and they've just always been helpful to everyone who comes in their doors. I think another one's Legacy Bagels. Legacy Bagels has tons of franchises around I think the state and other states, I believe so, but they're always really helpful. They work from like five something in the morning until like midday, but they're as bright as can be right when you walk through the door. I think that's really beautiful to see, and then lastly I have to say is my church, Lifeway Church with Josh Price and the other workers there. I think that they do a great job during their sermons of connecting everything back to Jesus, and it's nice to see and feel welcomed like they do right when you walk through the doors. There's someone greeting you, and there's always a helpful hand when you have a question, and I think that's a beautiful thing to see in any community in this world. Well, thank you so much. Have a blessed day.
