I'm Ezekiel Sound. I'm from Vero Beach, Florida, and I attended Vero Beach High School. This is about Ms. Powell, who helped build a confident, strong, and structured, disciplined young man. And I'm so grateful for the challenges that I came across in her social studies class. Every single day, we would combat each other because I didn't agree with the curriculum. And instead of kicking me out of class, she allowed me to stay and voice my opinion as long as it was respectful and backed by facts. I carry this till this day, that I can voice my opinion, that I can be stern in my beliefs as long as it's backed by facts and not just navigating through my emotions and how I feel in that time. I understood what it meant to adult, what it meant to have a true conversation instead of just an argument. Without Ms. Powell's challenging days in her class, I don't think I'd be the man I am today.
